Comparative performance studies show that the VAWTs designed by IOPARA are not only characterized by superior performance but also exhibit a very simple design that is cost effective from both manufacturing and maintenance perspectives. In general, VAWTs deliver on the average 41% higher Cpe (Electrical Power Coefficient)  at 15% lower rated wind speeds compared to the similarly rated/capacity HAWTs. Moreover, the VAWT average AEP yield is at the minimum 13%, 19% and 17% higher than the average of similar 2MW, 4MW, and 6MW rated HAWTs, respectively, for the average wind speed at hub height. As per the design aspects, the YATU VAWTs are an made up of constant section segments which are much more cost effective than the typical HAWT blade with varying cross-section geometry as well as blade twist along the blade span.
